ACT Promotes Safer Workplace with Fire and Safety Training at its Kolkata Center
3rd April 2026
Asian College of Teachers (ACT) reaffirmed its commitment to employee safety by organizing a comprehensive Workplace Fire and Safety Training session at its Kolkata center on 25th March 2026. The session, led by certified fire safety officer Mr Shaileswar Biswas, aimed to enhance awareness and equip employees with essential skills to effectively respond to fire-related emergencies.
The training covered key aspects of fire safety, including prevention strategies, identification of different types of fires, and appropriate response measures. Participants were given hands-on experience in using various fire extinguishers and managing minor fire incidents, helping them build confidence in handling real-life situations. The session also highlighted potential fire hazards and ways to mitigate risks within the workplace.
A major highlight of the training was the detailed evacuation safety plan, where employees were guided through structured evacuation procedures and emergency response protocols. Demonstrations on the correct use of stretchers and wheelchairs during evacuations, along with important dos and don’ts in crises, added practical value to the session.
The initiative not only strengthened awareness of ACT’s safety policies but also ensured that employees are better prepared to manage emergencies with confidence and efficiency. Through such proactive measures, ACT continues to foster a safe, secure, and well-prepared work environment for all.
