ACT Kolkata Centre Enhances Workplace Safety through Informative Fire and Safety Training
11th August 2023
Asian College of Teachers (ACT) Kolkata Centre organized a Workplace Fire and Safety Training on 4th August, 2023. The training, conducted by certified fire safety officer Mr. Shaileswar Biswas, aimed to equip employees with the crucial knowledge and skills to prevent workplace fires and respond effectively in case of an emergency.
The session covered essential topics including fire prevention strategies, identification of fire types, appropriate responses to fire incidents, and practical methods to extinguish minor fires. Mr. Shaileswar provided insights into identifying and reporting fire hazards, along with demonstrating the proper use of different types of fire extinguishers. The training included a safety plan encompassing evacuation procedures, managing hazardous situations, and preventing future incidents.
Following last year's training, ACT established a fire safety committee comprising staff members taking responsibilities as Fire Marshal, Deputy Fire Marshal, and Fire Warden in times of emergency. This proactive approach reinforces ACT's commitment to ensuring a safe workplace environment. The training not only heightened the employees' awareness of the fire safety policies but also equipped them with practical skills to manage fire-related emergencies. ACT remains dedicated to providing employees with the necessary safety training, emphasizing the significance of workplace safety in its operations.
