ACT CPD webinar on The Inclusive Classroom had been an interactive learning session

Asian College of Teachers successfully conducted a CPD webinar on ‘The Inclusive Classroom’ which was facilitated by Mr. Robert Blease (BA Hons University of York, MEd – University of Manchester, PGCE from the Bath Spa University), an education adviser with 25 years’ teaching, teacher training and school evaluation experience with institutions in Europe, Asia and Middle East on 4th June, 2021. The interactive session dealt with a pertinent topic and shed light on various aspects of inclusive classrooms. The 3-hour session saw Mr. Blease emphasizing the ways to build an effective inclusive classroom environment along with addressing some important areas like the difference between inclusion, exclusion, integration and segregation, the barriers to creating an inclusive classroom and the strategies to employ to build an inclusive classroom. The participants agreed that CPD webinars are an excellent way for teachers to be at par with the advancing and emerging field of teaching and it also adds to their constant upgradation and development necessary to be more effective in their respective classrooms. Institutions, nowadays, are willing to recruit teaching professionals with essential skills, knowledge and pedagogical approaches to address and deal with learners from diverse backgrounds effectively within their classroom settings. Keeping this in mind, the session was designed to keep the in-service teachers and aspirants a step ahead in the teaching profession and provide the support to learners with unique needs in inclusive classrooms.
