ACT celebrates Teachers Day with great zeal and some great performances

4th September 2020

Teacher’s Day is celebrated in India, every year on the 5th of September to honour the birth anniversary of our former president Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Every year on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, Asian College of Teachers aims to focus on appreciating the contribution of teachers and educators across the country and this was further elucidated in the speech of Ms. Sutapa Chakraborty Ghatak, Executive Director, Asian College of Teachers, who graced the program with her presence, thanking the teachers and mentors who helped her become who she is today. She also thanked the ACT tutors, trainers, and co-ordinators who have helped build brand ACT and lived up to its motto – “teach and touch lives”. She also congratulated the trainers on successfully coping up with the pandemic challenges and conducting online live web-based classes with great student feedback. She concluded her words with Malala Yousafzai’s 'One Child, One Teacher, One Pen and One Book Can Change the World' and thanked ACT’s founder and mentor, Dr Sanjib Chakraborty for always being a teacher and guide to all in the organization and set them on the right path towards success.

Keeping in mind the safety protocols of COVID 19, the members successfully managed to put up a lovely show for all present and have a great time. The two-hour long program witnessed some great songs, wonderful dance numbers and two entertaining plays that managed to tickle the audience’s funny bones and end the program on a happy note! The program concluded with a big teacher’s day wish and a thank you to Dr Sanjib Chakraborty (Sir) who had been watching the program virtually. Sir was not present physically to attend the program today but watched the program virtually with zeal and enthusiasm and encouraging all as always to fulfill their responsibilities of always providing the best to ACT students.

India has a long-standing tradition of Guru-Shishya relationship where Guru is revered more than even God or one’s parents. To commemorate the contributions of teachers, this year like every year, the members of the ACT family have come together with some great performances comprising songs, dances and skits to make this day a memorable one. The pandemic situation couldn’t dampen the spirit and the ACT family joined hands to make this day a special one.
