ACT conducted a successful orientation session for Mumbai TEFL batch

Asian College of Teachers has always felt that a proper orientation session is necessary in providing a clear picture of the TEFL job market to the candidates and guide them in the right direction that helps to remove any fallacious expectation that stems in their mind. This aids the candidates to set clear career objectives as they prepare for a new life that lies ahead of them.

One such interactive session was with the Mumbai TEFL trainees wherein ACT addressed their needs and requirement queries, most of which were directly related to the global TEFL market. The session focused on doubt clearing regarding the general notion among candidates that holds the view that only native English speakers are able to secure good jobs abroad. The natives might be preferred but there are many schools are out there recruiting Indians and ACT have succeeded in placing the Indian candidates abroad.

The session saw the trainees also raising questions regarding various other perspectives of the TEFL domain as well like migration to the field of teaching from other occupation and the incumbents that they face. Fresh graduates facing dilemma regarding a good job market for them and the ways to approach an international market. All these doubts were cleared and conveyed that there is a huge market for the fresh graduates in the arena of teaching English abroad as the recruiters prefer fresh candidates for the reason that they are adaptable, have a clear set of minds and do not carry any prior inhibition of teaching, was clarified.
